I relate the following not to discourage, but to warn that your need to plan on the petition failing. I have done what you are skiing here on a seemingly different issue, the US FATCA law that has Canada supplying personal financial data on Canadians that the US claims are US citizens or US persons to the US in violation of their Charter rights. I even sent money to help the Charter challenge in court. We lost.
People in general do not care unless,until an issue affects them personally. Most become enraged when you try to inform them of things that are likely to have dire consequences if they do not act. They will either refuse to physically accept whatever documentation you offer them or crumple it in your face. Personal experiences follow. As I found out more and more about FATCA, I tried to warn my coworkers here in Japan. One, a Canadian, flew into a rage, slammed her books down on the table in the faculty lounge and stormed out of the room. That was around 8 years ago. A few after that, she was asking if anyone knew where she could park your savings as all her accounts out side of the country she resided, Japan, where closed because she was not a resident; the exact thing I warned her of that triggered her outburst a few years prior. Last year many homelanders Americans were upset over being required to report money transfers exceeding $600. Over payments apps such as VENMO. Well well, we Americans who live abroad have had all our transactions regardless of amount reported to the US and have since at least 2014. Everyone I have tried to warn have called me all sorts of names, and none have actually done anything to help. Most are gleeful as they think it is some how unpatriotic to pay taxes to the countries we reside in and not the land of our citizenship.
If you are serious about stopping this, you need to prepare to offer serious opposition. A mere petition will not get it done. It is a necessary step, but prepared for action or you too will fail.

With the current Liberals in power there is no chance of them not signing on to this agenda. We need to have an election called before then or a petition won’t make much difference. I don't like the way this is worded. I have no desire to see our puppet government "debate" handing the country over, I want it PREVENTED. I have no faith that any elected members in the house would muster any resistance even if they wanted to. I'm not even convinced that if the petition goes through, that it would even slow down adoption of the IHR. If anything, this sounds like a way to accelerate it, but blame the people for the speed up.
