As far as I remember Australia wanted two of them, now US and UK park eight of them around our shores.

"...The President shall determine the appropriate public or private shipyard in the United States, Australia, or the United Kingdom .. ."

This notion immediately assumes that the USA has complete and unquestionable authority over the sovereignty of Australia and the UK without any reference to the thoughts, aspirations, wishes or indeed the direct permission of the citizens of those 2 countries and is determined to avoid any criticism or objection arising from those citizens.

The AUKUS project will only benefit the maniacal egos of the US based military-industrial complex and will only provoke disharmony with nations that choose to not be aligned with the US hegemony.

So, in that case allow me to state clearly and without exemption:

I NOT APPROVE OF THIS UNILATERAL DECLARATION AND I WILL OPPOSE ANY ACTIONS THAT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF AUSTRALIA MAKES TOWARDS COMPLYING WITH THE PRESIDENT OF USA IN THIS AND ANY RELATED MATTERS!!

To whom will you take this disapproval and opposition?

This is a statement of my conscience. Others can decide how they wish to respond.

I hereby declare: that the AUKUS security partnership is dissolved on the grounds that it does not have any legitimate lawful authority, because it lacks the seal of approval of the majority of the Australian people, making the A component of the partnership null and void.

Further to wit, henceforth and so on: since all public servants' engagement associated with AUKUS constitutes a waste of precious Australian resources, including the paper needed to produce reams of useless scribble, those responsible will have their personal liability assessed on a pro rata basis, and money will be deducted from their salary until their liability is discharged.

This serves to remind all public service employees, of their obligation to consult their employers before they presume to act on their behalf, especially in the national security arena.

Lucky you hereby declared, else we'd all be ruined.

Fancy money laundering. Who is going to man (woman) these subs if they all get vaccinated get sick and some die? Experienced and older men and women are leaving defence. Can we trust the training of a teenager to drive these things?

Have a look at the movie "On the Beach" filmed around Melbourne Australia and released in 1959. The story line follows the last days of humanity due to a "creeping" toxic cloud that has spread from the nuclear warfare devastated Northern Hemisphere to Southern Australia. Rated as science fiction on release but it is a clarion call to revitalize the Nuclear Disarmament movement that seems to have lapsed into a torpor.

Guess what James? the majority of Australians don't want it We think it's a farce and abuse of our taxes and sovereignty

If it looks like a parliament/congress, but smells like a pigsty, then it is probably full of pigs.

OZ and US have many pigs in the house serving their puppet masters, not the people.

Who rules - the bulldog, the kangaroo or the eagle?

In a fight who inevitably wins in the end?

On its face it look’s innocuous enough. I for one imagine that many of his “responsibilities” have been delegated. I read the text but don’t understand the ominous tone of the inference. Are we concerned that the debilitated president punted his authority to the debilitated SecDef? Are we concerned that this was done in order to spend taxpayer money wildly and unaccountably or are we afraid that there is sinister intention to “gift” nuclear subs for rogue elements to conduct nefarious activities?

all of the above I suppose.

I wonder why the Republicans/RINOS didn't do a thing.....

I dont know , but it looks like it doesn’t need their approval. Looks like it was “delegated” like something on his to-do list.

as usual they sit by and nod. I can imagine maybe a handful who voted against this, but the majority belongs to the uniparty
