Can a newspaper simply refuse to publish a advertisement?
If one of these letters was published in a newspaper I think it would reach a lot more people who are undecided on the matter.
Placing a QR-code in a small advert that links to something innocent before the publication date but later adds campaign information on the page might be a way to trojan horse some information to the mainstream media led public.
Having a small advert every week with just a very brief description about some citizen campaigning that is underway could be a way to legitimise the spreading of facts an alternative opinion in a paper. The paper would have to refuse information that is in the interest of citizens if they refuse to publish a paid advert that only links to government pages.
If I had disposable income I would try more, I placed a advert in mid 2020 promoting the already then clear benefit of Vitamin-D3 supplementation but no sign it helped.
I have collected a lot of data on the topic though.
