Amazing Amy Harlib
Amy is a 68 year old petite and feisty yoga dance entertainer from New York City who is known by her stage name -- Amazing Amy. She's also been dubbed as "The Little Old Limber Lady".
Amy has been a strong advocate for the creative performing arts, fine arts and literary arts industry, which was devastatingly shut down during the COVID-19 era. She’s been fighting the tyrannical agenda through her yoga dance acts, one performance at a time.
I try to live and embody the creative performing artistic world and life I so fervently want existence to be about. As an entertainer, I have been devastated and practically destroyed by the closure of all performance venues ... The tragic irony is that my SPREAD THE YOGA LOVE performances are all about health, miraculously overcoming age (68) and injury to achieve feats of flexibility few can attain at any age. So Big Pharma, who wants to addict every person on the planet to their toxic products, hate people like me who prove that we do not need them if we eat healthy organic food and exercise daily!

Passion for Yoga Despite Injuries
Amy has spent a lifetime studying all forms of movement and physical theater and became attracted to Chinese martial arts, acrobatics and yoga in the early 1980s and parlayed that into a solo performance career that took her to Taiwan and back to her native NYC environs to perform in a wide variety of venues. In 1994 injuries forced her to “retire” with a disintegrated disc in her spine, torn rotator cuffs in both shoulders and arthritis that necessitated a total left hip replacement in 1998.
During that time Amy never stopped doing yoga and hated not being able to perform. She relaunched her career in March 2009, to feature her extreme flexibility and zany imagination. Even a right hip replacement in January 2015 did not stop her!
Jedi Yoga Trek
Amy is also a lifelong, avid reader of science fiction and fantasy literature, art and graphic novels - and loves to indulge in her passion for reading and cinema (especially the silent clowns). She lives in Chelsea, New York and welcomes intelligent feedback and discussion about the genre and the arts. Other enthusiasms: cats, Star Trek and Star Wars, archeology / anthropology / paleontology, folklore and mythology, genre films, science for intelligent laypersons, and memoirs / narratives as literature.
The Little Old Limber Lady
Amy’s performances are mind bending with unusual limber moves that thrill and inspire audiences. The audience feels empowered by a fun-loving, young at heart, wild and crazy 68 year old woman who's more limber than most anyone half her age. She is the only contortionist in the world who has created Yoga Contortion Dance acts with special themes and characters. Her one-woman show includes colorful characters such as Granny Grammy: Demented Diva of Ditties. She also does improvised flexible freestyle to any genre of music, live or recorded. Many acts are one-of-a-kind and run approximately 6-8 minutes in length.
Spreading the Yoga Love
What is the secret to Amy's flexible bendy extreme yoga moves? She attributes her good health and flexibility to the benefits of an organic vegetarian diet, daily exercise and healthy lifestyle. Her yoga practice enables her to perform, spread the yoga love and inspire audiences of all ages. Despite the injuries she's sustained all over her body, Amy continues to amaze us. Amy challenges ageism and gender role stereotypes and is also a role model for young people -- her motto is to keep performing and to never retire!

Thank you James for posting this. I hope I please get gigs from this. Hey world, I STRUGGLE so hard to get gigs. Ageism and sexism pose near insurmountable barriers! It's like smashing my head against brick walls to get anyone with the resources to rent venues and produce shows to WANT me. If I had those resources, I would have been making my own events years ago.
I intuitively felt she is a special woman. And now, because of your generosity James we can get to know her. She stands for what we are fighting for: human beings are special, creative, talented, unique, intelligent and super beings. We ARE NOT something to be fitted within a system of logistics and robots! We are not objects to be killed at leisure. Thank you Amy!
